Megan Housby – CVT, Elite FFCP

Megan has always had a passion for animal care and welfare. She grew up with dogs, cats, horses, and various wildlife her and her family rehabilitated. Megan began her professional career in zookeeping and field research. After she got married, she discovered veterinary medicine was more portable with her husband’s active-duty military career. She went on to obtain her veterinary technology degree, graduating from the Vet Tech Institute at Hicky College and passing her national exam in 2011. Megan has worked general practice in several states. Most recently she worked in a behavior specialty practice. There she did behavior counseling, behavior modification, and cooperative care training. She also obtained Elite Fear Free Certified Professional credentials. After her husband’s retirement from the military, they decided to move back to Illinois to be closer to family. Megan started with Animal Care Hospital of Morris in October 2023. Here she enjoys collaborating with other dedicated professionals. Megan hopes to share more of her behavior expertise and is considering restarting her pursuit of her VTS in behavior. In her spare time, Megan enjoys spending time with her large extended family, hiking, kayaking, skydiving, and tending to her gardens. Both Megan and her husband are licensed wildlife rehabilitators and share their home with their cat, May, and whatever wildlife they may be rehabbing.
